25 November 2022 weekly update

25 November 2022

This week, Christine updates on the recent briefings and conferences that have taken place around the county.

Dear Colleagues,

This week has passed in a whirl with the third headteacher briefing meeting in East Malling, The KAH headteacher conference, KSENT headteacher meeting, the first meeting of KCC with SAT and MAT chief executives and a discussion with the Local Inclusion Forum Executive Chair about their potential role in piloting a more devolved decision-making model in SEND.

Congratulations to all involved in planning and running the KAH conference, which one headteacher told me was the best in the 15 years he has been attending! There was a terrific buzz in the room as we were challenged by keynote speaker Jon Uttley of the Education Alliance Trust on ethical leadership, took part in a variety of great workshops, then later heard from James Pope of Heads Up for HTs and polar explore Ann Daniels

It was great to have the opportunity to see and catch up with so many of you during the day and a big thank you to all involved in the discussion groups today, Friday, for your time and contributions to the development work.

Have a good weekend.

Best wishes

Christine McInnes
