A critical element of the Council’s Transformation programme is to deliver better outcomes by redesigning services around the needs of customers and the outcomes we want to achieve.
A recent review of PIA Services identified opportunities to improve the way we do things. The key opportunities focus on our internal business processes and the ease of access to the services we offer. The intended result is a single point of access for schools and greater emphasis on supporting preventative work with schools.
We have designed a digital pathway for all referrals to the service following our pilot phase. This new service will be a single point of access for school and will be hosted on KELSI. It will reduce the need for schools to fill out hard copy notification forms. It will allow schools to identify the support they require as well as inform the service of exclusions, notify the service of a suspected child missing education and request the LA to raise a penalty notice.
