To gain an understanding, increase confidence and develop skills to use the Sustained Shared Thinking and Emotional Wellbeing tool (SSTEW) as a self-evaluation tool in Early Years settings with 2 to 5 year olds.


Training objectives

  • Gain an understanding on how the scales contribute to assessing and improving the quality in Early Years settings, reflecting on its use and how it aids self-evaluation
  • Explore the tool to gain an overview and become familiar with the contents of the SSTEW
  • Build confidence on how to use the tool through practical application.

Pre-course Information

Practitioners will need to bring their own copy of Assessing Quality in Early Childhood Education and Care: Sustained Shared Thinking and Emotional Well-being (SSTEW) Scale for 2 to 5 year olds provision.
