Action Research Project

This project will give you the opportunity to raise standards in your own school EYFS by focusing on an area identified by your school development plan.

Your own professional development will be acknowledged by the certification from the Institute of Education.

An opportunity to work with the Institute of Education and UCL. As well as to work collaboratively with colleagues from your own school, other schools and settings.

Last Years Project ‘Developing parental engagement to promote a love of reading in children aged 3 to 4 years old’:
“We performed our initial audit on the current book areas in all the classrooms. We asked questions such as how many of the children were choosing to read? Did children share books with adults or other children? Did the book areas seem inviting? Lastly we sent home a questionnaire to see if children were reading at home and at school. In a few short months from a third of the children to more than half the school were displaying interest in books and reading”

Commitment required from your school:

  • Identify a member of your staff or a team to lead the project within your school
  • There will then be a twilight training session on 30 April followed by a celebration on 4 June, 4pm at The Blake Gallery.
  • Your team will also need to commit to undertaking the project in your school, an area highlighted in your school development plan. Agreed for the project and children’s progress be shared and published on the EFTSA, IoE and UCL websites and on your own websites.
