About the challenge

Recycle spent batteries and receive a reward for your school.

Introducing the 2017 ‘Power Up To Recycling’ challenge. We are asking Kent schools to encourage pupils, parents and staff to bring as many spent batteries as possible into school for recycling. This year’s challenge offers a reward for your school based on the weight of batteries you collect.*

The challenge is to fill your pink battery box** with spent domestic batteries as many times as possible from 1 May - 1 December 2017. Schools will be rewarded at the end of the challenge with a Kent County Supplies voucher provided by Valpak (who recycle batteries on behalf of Kent County Council), based on the weight of batteries your school collects, as follows:

1-15 kgs = £5
16-50 kgs = £10
51-100 kgs = £20
101-200 kgs = £50
201-300 kgs = £100
301+ kgs = £300
