John Downton Awards - Submissions Open

Submissions are open for the exhibition from 13 June 2018.

We would like to invite you to take part in the John Downton Awards for Young Artists. This year’s exhibition will take place in the County Gallery, County Hall, Maidstone, from 22 October 2018 to 2 January 2019, with an awards ceremony on 15 November. A selection of the works will be taken from Maidstone to be shown at Turner Contemporary from 12 January - 24 February 2019.

The John Downton Awards were first organised in 2000 at the request of Miss Hilda Downton - sister of the celebrated Kentish artist, poet and philosopher, to recognise the achievements of the young artists of Kent in the fields of painting and drawing.
