Gatsby Good Career Guidance Benchmarks - Compass Careers Benchmark Tool

The Careers and Enterprise Company in partnership with The Gatsby Foundation are delighted to let you know that Compass - the careers benchmark tool - is now being rolled out to Secondary schools across the country.

Compass has been produced because we want to put good careers education and guidance within reach of all young people. The tool is free to use and has been designed to help schools evaluate and monitor improvements to their career programmes.

To access Compass, please visit the Compass Careers website

You’ll see that the tool gives you an immediate read-out of how your school performs against the eight Gatsby benchmarks, so you can identify and then focus on the areas that most need development. It follows the publication of Professor Sir John Holman’s report in 2014 on Good Career Guidance, which defined the eight benchmarks that show what top quality career guidance looks like.

We are also delighted that Teach First, NAHT, ASCL and the CDI are supporting the tool.

Compass has already proved extremely valuable for the schools and colleges who trialed an earlier version. We hope your school/college will find it valuable too.
