Leaflet to help schools submit right information for penalty notice

The PRU, Inclusion and Attendance Service (PIAS) have produced some summary tips for making a successful request for an Education Penalty Notice.

While there is already a comprehensive guide and Code of Conduct on education related Penalty Notices (PN), we are seeing a significant increase in the proportion of PN requests being submitted with errors or incomplete information.

Such requests will not be processed because we will not be able to legally enforce the payment of the fines.

Therefore, the Attendance Enforcement Team of PIAS has produced a leaflet, which summarises the key points for submitting an appropriate and successful request for an Education Penalty Notice.

It aims to provide school staff with a quick and easy reminder of what is required so that some common errors will be avoided and the necessary information is fully provided.

The Summary Tips should not be used as a substitute for the detailed guidance and the Code of Conduct, which must be fully read and understood by the staff before making the requests for Penalty Notice.

The leaflet of the Summary Tips, as well as the Code of Conduct and detailed guidance, are available on the Penalty Notice page
