Kent Country Parks Outdoor Education

Kent Country Parks provide inspiring curriculum led education programmes for children in the great outdoors.

What is involved in the programme?

Our experienced education rangers use a range of different methods to engage, inspire and educate young people. Working with groups on a needs assessed basis our programmes bring nature to life.

Using the beautiful settings of the Country Parks our fully trained Education Rangers use literacy, numeracy, science, art and more to enhance the learning of your group whilst being submerged in nature. We can deliver outdoor learning at our site or even come to yours, providing the setting’s right.

Where are Kent Country Parks education programmes delivered?

  • Brockhill Country Park - Hythe
  • Shorne Woods Country Park - Gravesend
  • Lullingstone Country Park - Eynsford
  • Trosley Country Park - Meopham

What we deliver for Early Years and Primary schools

Our practical based approach is delivered for Early Years and Primary school age children and is mapped to the EYFS and KS1/2 Curriculum.

What we deliver for Secondary schools and older children

Some of our programmes are mapped to the KS3 Curriculum with a particular focus on fieldwork. We also deliver programmes for Secondary schools which are based on our team building approach and seek to instil confidence and problem solving skills. Working out in the woods the groups will work with the education rangers on team skills, on a day packed with creativity and adventure that is perfect for fostering good relationships back in the classroom.

Forest School

Our tried and tested approach has a focus on building self-esteem, independence and exploration and is delivered by experienced Forest School Practitioners. Available at all of our locations we can also bring Forest School to you, if the setting is suitable.

What we deliver for adults

For those wanting to understand Forest School or to be involved in the delivery of their own Forest School sessions we provide training at Levels 1,2 and 3 for teaching and support staff to learn how to be an outdoor learning expert with our very own rangers. At the end of the course you will have achieved your accredited, nationally recognised OCNWMR qualification. Combine this with our extensive range of INSET training and CPD courses and you really can be fully equipped to lead your own outdoor learning sessions.

All of our programme can be tailored to meet a range of different needs and we can also design and deliver bespoke sessions that fit with classroom topics that you might be working on. So if you’re interested in teaching, learning and bringing your school, academy, nursery or even yourself to Kent Country Parks get in touch.
