Identity and Belonging

Meeting the needs of refugee children and young people seeking asylum.

Monday, 10 July 2017 at the University of Kent, Canterbury, UK.

This one day conference, organised by Kent Educational Psychology Service and University of Kent, aims to inform practice in supporting refugee children and young people seeking asylum.

In the morning session contributors will present current research that identifies the challenges facing this group.

The afternoon session, in workshop format, will explore practical strategies to support this 'at risk' group in developing a positive sense of identity and belonging in school or FE college.

The input is likely to be applicable to CYP from other vulnerable groups and will be of interest to colleagues from education, psychology and social care.

The conference is entirely free and is likely to become fully booked very quickly. Anyone interested in attending may like to reserve their places as soon as possible.
