Changes to Independent Support in Kent

Coffee Mornings.

Since the introduction of the 2014 Children and Family Act and the new Statutory Education, Health and Care Plans (EHC’s), the Government has funded a national ‘Independent Support’ Project. In Kent, this project has been led by Beams on behalf of Totius, a partnership of four parent led charities, Space2beme, Includes us 2 and 4us2. The project will be ending on the 31 July this year.

In order that disabled young people and their parents know who to go to for ongoing support around education and other matters, four coffee mornings have been arranged across the County. These sessions are informal and will be co-facilitated by Beams and Information, Advice and Support Kent (IASK).
